Scholarship Overview

The Forest-Aires Women’s Chorus Vocal Scholarship Program

The Forest-Aires Women’s Chorus is a nonprofit organization, using monies earned from performances to fund voice scholarships for local high school students.

High school music teachers, in districts where Forest-Aires members reside, channel students into our fall auditions.  These are students who show talent and development potential during school music activities.  Scholarship winners take private voice lessons during the school year, and, in the spring, they are featured in the spring show – ENCORE!  More than 300 students have been awarded Forest-Aires voice scholarships to date.

The objective of The Forest-Aires scholarships is to enrich the lives of local students through music, deepen the music learning they receive at school, and help prepare them for advanced study or music performance, if they choose.  Through our scholarships, they learn not only singing, but also discipline, mental training, great satisfaction of achieving a goal, and skills needed to appear before an audience.  You will see our scholarship winners performing in school, community shows, and churches. Many of them study music and theatre in college and, then, onto careers in music.
